THE PERMANENT EXHIBITION …
The permanent exhibition reveals everything you need to know about Weiss, its skills, and its expertise, through three key areas dedicated to the pillars of the company :
– The art of blending : : Eugène Weiss was the son of a winemaker and experimented with cocoa beans of different origins to find the very best combination – Le Haut Chocolat®. Discover how the art of blending is expressed at Weiss and taste three chocolates made from skillful and sophisticated combinations of different beans.
– Praliné by Weiss : Whether smooth, crunchy, or powdered, Weiss pralinés stand out from the crowd and are the reference for gastronomy professionals. Find out how we make our pralinés, learn how to taste them (you won’t be able to resist our delicious chouchous!), and discover which praliné suits your taste buds best. And as a bonus, you’ll be given a praliné recipe to take home and try for yourself.
– The Weiss style : At Weiss, we pride ourselves on our eye for detail and our French-style elegance that brings a unique touch to each of our chocolates. You’ll appreciate how we play with different colors, you’ll get a feel for the finishing touches we bring to all our packaging, and you can even follow our video tutorial to show you how to tie a beautiful Weiss bow. But watch out, it’s harder than you might think!
WALKWAY TO THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY…
After walking up the majestic metal ramp, you will reach the spectacular Walkway to the Chocolate Factory. This is your invitation to discover the secrets of Le Haut Chocolat®, and to enjoy a unique experience. You’ll discover all the different production stages for our individual chocolate bonbons and pralinés, from making a ganache to coating, decorating, and much more. And all this in the company of one of our employee guides who will be delighted to share their passion for chocolate with you.
What do an architect, a contemporary artist, and an artisan chocolate maker all have in common? That gesture of the hand that transforms their creativity into a work of art ! This first exhibition, dedicated to the gesture, links architecture with modern art and gastronomy. It involves a voyage of discovery, illustrated by reproductions in chocolate made in partnership with the Museum of Modern Art in Saint-Étienne, and takes you on a trip into the creative universe of Weiss. There is an entry fee for our temporary exhibitions. The themes will be chosen by Weiss to explore issues close to the hearts of the people of Saint-Étienne. They may also be hosted in partnership with other local institutions.
from 6 October 2016 to 28 February 2017
